It Really Works!

At an independent test, a world renowned security and law enforcement organization put Simtix Perimeter Guardian through its paces. Three vehicles in batch of five hundred were carrying explosives, and none of the officers were aware of the test. As they attempted to enter the facility, all three vehicles carrying explosives were swiftly identified and quarantined.

Serious Protection From Vehicular Threats

The threats facing sensitive facilities have never been more acute than they are today, and the tools and techniques used by the perpetrators are becoming more and more sophisticated. Whether you are responsible for a ministry, a bank, a military base, an industrial compound, an office complex, or an Embassy (to name a few), you must implement effective counter measures to reduce the risk from vehicular threats. If you want to protect your facility from serious vehicular threats then you need Simtix Perimeter Guardian.

SPG

Simtix Perimeter Guardian (SPG) is a highly specialized security system to protect facilities against vehicular threats. SPG integrates a diverse array of highly specialized vehicular security equipment into one comprehensive security system.

The system incorporates automatic number plate recognition, under vehicle scanning for the identification of ordinance and contraband, it automates complete control of barriers, blockers and traffic management,  and it integrates sensors, surveillance and barrier management. As technologies improve and new products become available we can fully integrate them into the overall security envelope.

You don't have to slow down your vehicle flow to improve security. In fact, SPG is much faster than traditional inspection techniques using mirrors and manual searches. The vehicle is scanned as it approaches the gate, and within seconds the officer is looking at a comprehensive set of images of the vehicle. The system, even has an express mode that allows you to process vehicles even faster. Better still in very high volume situations, you can elect to inspect at random.

No two facilities are identical: each facility has its own unique topologies and a unique set of threats. So SPG is designed to adapt and provide the appropriate counter measures based on the prevailing conditions. Some facilities may have a simple under carriage scanner and a cantilever; others may have dozens of CCTV cameras, traffic lights, multiple barriers, several inspections areas and even blast mitigation zones. The system can be configured to suit an infinite variety of situations, and our portable system can be rapidly deployed in the field for special events.

From the outset we designed our system for security professionals not computer experts. Better still, the system works in many languages like Arabic, English, French, German and many more. Power and sophistication does not have to lead to complexity; we guarantee that you won't find an easier to use system anywhere.

Features and Benefits

The principle benefit of SPG is that you can protect your facility against serious vehicular threats, while maintaining operations and reasonable traffic flow. In short, it works! Better still the system can adapt to your security policies and the physical topology of your perimeter.

Here are some of the main features of SPG:

License Plate Recognition

SPG seamlessly integrated the same LPR technologies used exclusively by the US government to protect all its land borders. The system can read Middle Eastern plates (in Arabic and English) and it can read front plates, rear plates or both. In addition, the system also identifies the Emirate. Should the need arise, the system can also capture license plates of vehicles travelling at highway speeds.

Undercarriage Scanning

SPG incorporates the world renowned UVIS scanner from Perceptics. This LED illuminated line scanner creates superb high resolution images in a wide range of lighting conditions, and can scan vehicles ranging from a small car to a large commercial truck. With no training, security officers can quickly review the undercarriage, zooming into suspicious areas. There is even a feature to compare the current image of the undercarriage with the images taken during prior visits to the facility.

Traffic Management Integration

SPG doesn’t just incorporate UVIS and LPR technologies; the system integrates vehicle sensors, barriers, stoppers, traffic lights and more, in a multi-patent pending security system. The system manages security and controls the vehicle flow through gates and inspection areas.

CCTV integration

SPG fully integrates CCTV into the system. There is smart scene and camera switching so that the officer can automatically track vehicles as they proceed through the perimeter. The system can automatically capture scene images as events unfold providing a detailed audit of the vehicle activity. Better still, the officer can quickly and easily select cameras, and PTZ, all through a simple visual interface.

Fits Many Varied Topologies

Every facility is different; both in physical layout, and in its security policies. SPG is designed from the ground up to accommodate a broad spectrum of different configurations, without any changes to the core system. The implementation teams configure devices and behaviors to meet the unique requirements of the facility.

Touch Screens and Multi-lingual capabilities

The SPG system is fully functional using standard keyboard and mouse, but a large number of features have been ergonomically designed to leverage interactions with touch screens. In short, security professionals will find touch screens better. The touch screen interface provides seamless ways, for example, to enter information in multiple languages using virtual onscreen keyboards including Arabic, English, French and Spanish.

User Interface Design

SPG uses a state of the art user interface designed for security professionals and not computer experts. The clean and clear design allows the user to access multiple common functions without scrolling through multiple pages of features.

Comprehensive reports

SPG maintains a detailed enterprise database of all vehicle visits. The system includes a rich suite of reports that can be produced in any supported language at anytime. These “live: reports are visible on screen, and often contain links from one report to another.

Other Features include:

  • Login/Logout allowing multiple users and identifying guard on duty
  • Image management such as adjusting contrast and brightness
  • Manual management of devices, e.g. all barriers down, floodlights on, reset device, etc
  • Vehicle queue management in case the order of vehicles entering the inspection area changes
  • Alarm function leading to the locking of the system and blocking access to the facility in case of emergency until an unlock code is given by an offsite security supervisor
  • Vehicle count display showing the volume of vehicles processed at the lane
